11/9/2023 0 Comments Fireside cabins pagosa springs co![]() Also, there needs to be a light in the tiny shower. You have to open the windows (there ARE screens on the windows) plus every room has a ceiling fan. We weren't really there during the day, it wasn't that big of a deal. This place was such dream!! On the CON side: there is no air-conditioning. If you're able to get a cabin by the creek, do it! There's also additional grounds w a suoer comfy pavilion with chairs, picnic tables, lounge chairs, grills, outdoor toys PLUS a basketball goal and half court. ![]() The bed was super comfy!! That was another thing that was very important to us. It was very clean and had all kinds of clever amenities. This adorable cabin is NOT a tiny home! It's an actual cabin. We had no idea what we were getting into, but read the reviews and felt ok about it. The Fireside Inn only had one more cabin left. ![]() We've been traveling across country in our RV and wanted to take a break and stay in a cabin. If you get frustrated, like I did, there's no good places to climb out of the river till you get close to town. Highly recommend only tubing from the cabins with water flow near 140 or above. When we finally got around to tubing the river flow had dropped below 130 and we were consistently stuck on rocks for the majority trip down the river. From my own experience, check the USGS river gauge first. One thing to remember is they advertise being able to tube from the cabins to town. There is a considerable current, but it's really easy to spot and stay out of. There is really easy access to the river, my family spent plenty of time soaking in the river here. There is a grill outside that can be used also. The Kitchen is nicely stocked with utensils/equipment and easy to get around. The bathroom and shower were nice and there were no issues there. In most cases even following the instructions our cabin was over 80 degrees in the evening and it took a considerable amount of time to cool off, even with the provided fans. There is no AC, they have instructions on how to keep it cool and how to cool it off. Had several dropped calls when the internet suddenly flaked out. But if I needed to make a call or answer a call I had to walk outside away from the cabin. It wasn't a big deal as we were not on our phones a lot. There is very little cellular signal here, and while they provide wifi, it's kind of temperamental. Outlets are also in strange locations, I had to charge my phone on the window sill, oh well, we weren't there to play on our phones. My wife and i on several occasions banged our shins on the bed frame trying to get around them. The bedrooms were nice, but the beds take up a considerable amount of the space. We had cabin 205, which is close enough to hear the river, but not quite see it. Overall I would definitely stay here again, even if my review sounds otherwise, the ups definitely out did the downs. Pretty sure our 2 year old made the most noise of anyone there. The cabins were almost all full while we were there and it was relatively quiet. The Cabins are really cozy and was honestly on the small side for our family of 5. This was our first trip to Pagosa Springs and the Cabins close to the river was just too good to pass up.
